And here’s the complete collection. Lined up in Sudoku formation with one red, one blue and one green/yellow shirt in each column and in each row. From left to right, top to bottom, we have:
They work much better as a collection than individual portraits. None of them are perfect but, if pushed, I’d pick out Scotty, Spock and maybe nurse Chappell as my favourites. After finishing this set with a sense of dissatisfaction, I expect I’ll return to Star Trek at some point. Maybe I’ll redo all these portraits in watercolour.
Two layer marker portraits didn’t work for me though. I don’t see myself doing a collection like this again, although I might try it again with individual portraits. It was, after all, incredibly satisfying marking in huge black shapes over other colours: it was something about how the pen glided across the paper.
