Stuart Roosa

After a day off while waiting for some new markers to arrive, it’s back to work. This is Stuart Roosa, CMP of Apollo 14. He stayed in orbit while Commander Alan Shepard and LMP Edgar Mitchell got to explore the lunar surface. Stuart’s second colour is bright orange, matching his ginger hair – not deliberate on my part.

Jack Swigert has grown on me since my initial reservations and Stuart now feels like the weakest in the collection. The black shoes were great but the orange doesn’t work the way I wanted it to. I think the problem is that he doesn’t look as young here as he does in all the photos I’ve seen.
