I’ve been feeling pretty grot this week and I know from experience that if I…

Sean Lock
Today I’ve been painting a portrait of the late Sean Lock. It’s a posterised painting using the trippy colour scheme and following my usual process for such paintings. My source photo was a freeze frame from the famous carrot in a box video.
It might be one of my weaker recent posterised portraits. Despite me using a grid to get down some starting pencil outlines, the likeness isn’t 100% there: his forehead and chin both feel slightly too big. On the other hand, it’s unmistakebly Sean thanks to the tiny wrinkles just above the top rim of his glasses. Careers thrive or die on such slim margins.
Sean’s up for sale, with the price to be found here.
