Ken Mattingly

The next member of the club is Ken Mattingly, CMP of Apollo 16. His crew mates were Commander John Young and LMP Charles Duke. It was John’s second trip to the moon but this time he got to step on it, which is why his Apollo 10 moon orbit doesn’t get him a space in this collection.

Ken’s second colour is forest green. As one of the darker colours, it’s one of my least favourite second colours. This one isn’t one of my favourites in the collection but I think that’s down to the source photo and resulting value plan rather than to the choice of colours or to my abilities.
