Jackson’s Art Prize Extended Longlist

Today’s big news is that The Wrong Kind Of Snow has made it on to the Jacksons Art Prize extended longlist.

Out of 16,280 entries, only 4,200 are left in the competition. My painting is in the top 25% and is surrounded by works by professional artists with art degrees. I’ve checked out the details of about ten artists so far and not found a single amateur, which makes me wonder whether I might be in with a shout of the anateur prize. Who knows? The extended longlist gallery can be seen here. I have nine more days to wait now until the longlist announced, a list that I expect to be made up of about a thousand paintings.
