NMA Model 15

Today’s model doesn’t even have a name.  She’s Model 15 from the New Masters Academy.  Great pose though.

The idea behind this one was to make it another monotone drawing with no edges and using violet as the colour.  The strategy was changed in a couple of places.  First, my pencil outline was laid on a bit too hard, making it difficult to erase, so I did go over  the outline in violet.  Second, violet on its own was looking a little boring (somehow dull browns and indigos work on their own but bright colourful colours don’t) so I also added a bit of indigo, fuchsia and field green in places.  I may have put on too much pencil, so when wetting it afterwards I was especially careful to start with the contours and wrinkles that most helped define the shape.

I’m happy with this one.  I think the pose has a lot to do with that.  The things I least like are the dodgy hand (with a strand of hair looking like an extra finger) and the way that one breast looks bigger than the other but these aren’t big problems.

Oh, and as a special bonus, here’s what my original drawling looked like in the inktense pencils before adding water.
