Michael

All my figure drawing so far has been of naked females and there are a lot of people out there who would rather see naked male bodies, so I thought I’d pick a male model for a change.  This is Michael.

Like with the seated version of Aubrey yesterday, I’ve gone for a single colour.  Today it’s indigo.  Somehow, this doesn’t seem to scale the same heights as Aubrey.  While the musculature is good and the hair fantastic, the hands and toes aren’t great.  And you can’t see it here but the figure is badly placed on the paper with a big gap above his head and the toes almost touching the bottom.  The biggest difference between this and Aubrey, though is that Aubrey had more lost edges to her.  Maybe if there wasn’t a hard edge to Michael’s right thigh and no indication of where his thigh stopped and the background began, it might look better.
This one’s up for sale.
