Max Taber

Next up is Max Taber, played by Christopher Lloyd. Probably the scariest of all the patients in the film, like an unexploded bomb. It was a no brainier to use the red marker for Max. And while I used the Notanizer app on one particular setting to get my first go down on paper, I did move the slider in the app to see where I might add more bits of red to improve the likeness. So this one used the app but with the slider in different places in different bits of the painting.

Again, there’s a likeness there but not a perfect one. And I like the way how, like Da Vinci’s statues of those guys escaping from stone, Max’s portrait is just vaguely emerging from a fairly abstract painting. And Max and Mac already look better next to each other than they do individually.

But I do need to go for a walk, so this might be the last one today. Stop on a high.
