Clive
Another portrait. Ā This is Clive the bantering butcher from the local farmshop at MB Farms (http://www.mbfarms.co.uk/index.html) in Stockbury, Kent. Ā It’s his birthday today.
Today for the flesh tones I stuck to my flesh tone and grey markers – no impressionistic primaries thrown in there. Ā Although I did include a bit of green in the hair. Ā I fancied going for quite a minimalist approach, not drawing in any wrinkles or facial creases and drawing a side-on profile rather than a three quarter view.
It looks OK if you’ve never met him. Ā If you have, then you’d probably agree with me that this isnāt such an obvious likeness to the model as the drawings of Roy and Jimbo the other day.
I framed this and dropped it off at MB Farms for Clive to keep a couple of days later. Ā He wasn’t in so it sat proudly on the display counter for the rest of the day.
