Brie On A Chair

I’m taking a break from the watercolour for a day or two, so I’ve moved back to figure drawing with the inktense pencils today.

First up is one of my favourite models, Brie.  This is the fourth time I’ve drawn her.  Her skin tone is really well suited to leaf green and she has striking red hair, so I set out with those two colours.  I even used them in the chair in an attempt to get the while painting working together.  But it didn’t work, so I fingered in a couple of places.
First I used black and charcoal grey to add the curtain at the back and a bit of foreground.  The reasoning behind this was that I wanted a tiny slither of her grace to show on the left of her head and I wanted to try negatively painting it by putting some darks behind it.  That didn’t work.
And then I thought the reds and greens on Brie’s body were looking a bit too flat, so I added purple to the darkest bits.  And that completely ruined the painting.
This is terrible. Probably the worst bit of figure departing I’ve done so far.  This is one for the bin.  I need to do another, better, bit of figure drawing as soon as possible to get this one out of  my system.
